"Where is the "box" in this blog message?" you ask...
The photo shows Andy Warhol, the infamous American artist. He took pictures of himself in a photo booth, and, of course made them into an instant work of Pop art. In the pictures he does what a lot of people do: make silly faces. However, because he's Andy Warhol, these photos become iconic once made into "art"; they comment in a tongue-in-cheek way on the value we place on things "artistic" (maybe we overvalue them...).
Warhol also looks rather ugly, alone, a bit pathetic in this work of art... It's not a flattering self-portrait! Maybe he's saying that, in the end, we are all a bit alone/lonely? The small, narrow, claustrophobic format of the photos rather emphasises this idea, don't you think?
Have you noticed that on passport photos we look as if we were in little boxes? It reminds me of the Harry Potter films, where in newspaper photos, posters, or portraits, the people are "alive", stuck in a particular time and place, in sort of time-warp "boxes"...
